Information for Patients
The shoulder and elbow are some of the most complex joints in the body. At a first consultation, I take time to diagnose your problem accurately by taking a detailed history and examination. Further tests such as xrays or advanced imaging techniques such as MRI scans are often required to confirm this diagnosis. Once a diagnosis has been reached I will discuss all the appropriate options with you so that we can make a decision together as to which treatment to pursue.
As a surgeon dealing with this specialist area, I am aware that surgery is not always the best solution. Specific physiotherapy programmes or injections can treat many conditions successfully and I work closely with a team of expert physiotherapists, pain management specialists and radiologists to achieve the best outcomes.
